• Bone Densitometry– DEXA scans provide a safe and painless way of assessing bone density and bone mineral content. Bone loss can lead to higher risk of fractures, especially in women over the age of 50.
• Interventional Radiology– Available at our Baton Rouge General Medical Center, interventional radiology offers many advances. Biopsy of small lesions that were detected by high-resolution scans can be performed. Catheter placement under fluoroscopy can turn a formal procedure into an outpatient procedure with almost no recovery needed. And clogged arteries can be dilated and reopened without the need for surgery. Our staff includes fellowship-trained physicians who can perform these studies with the highest level of expertise.
• Musculoskeletal Radiology– Our fellowship-trained physicians provide orthopedists and other doctors the highest-quality interpretation of joint imaging.
