Nuclear medicine provides very detailed imaging of certain organs, allowing us to detect much smaller (and newer) cancers and other health problems. The thyroid gland, gallbladder, liver, kidneys, skeletal system and more can be assessed. Nuclear medicine also allows us to treat certain diseases painlessly, such as hyper-thyroidism.
